After having a hard time on tour with her infamous song ‘Whip my Hair’, Willow Smith has decided to take a step back and return to life as a normal kid.
The pint-size star won’t be taking the lead role in the upcoming musical, Annie – but daddy Will Smith is not so keen on Willow’s choice.
The Hitch star explained: “Willow supposed to be doing Annie. We got Jay-Z to do the movie and the studio to come in.”
He recalled when his little entertainer wanted to pull out. His response to that was: “Baby, no no! Listen, you’ll be in New York with all your friends and Beyonce will be there. You will be singing and dancing.”
But not even Beyonce herself could entice Willow back to the leading role of Annie, as 44 year old Will revealed that his sharp offspring said ‘Daddy, I have a better idea, how about I just be 12.’ Good answer, Willow!
Will is not at all the pushy-dad type as he, himself, took a step back and realise that his little girl has a valid point – and openly admits that he learnt a thing or two through Willow!
The loving father adds: The thing that had come very clear to me is the danger of a material world and focusing so hard on coming up with money or a house or a job. You focus on those things and sometimes you lose focus on why you are doing it in the first place. The only reason to do any of that is love.”
While Willow is taking a break from the entertainment world, big brother Jaden will be co- starring with his father in the movie, After Earth. The action-packed production will hit the cinemas in June.
